Accident Clinic West Palm Beach
Getting injured in an accident is one of life’s most difficult experiences. After an accident, you may have to attend multiple doctor’s appointments, have surgery, and go to physical therapy. Your work and family life will be thrown into disarray. The trained injury professionals at Icon Medical Centers can help you to recover from an accident. Our team of doctors is committed to helping you manage and reduce your pain, and we employ several different treatment methods to help our patients heal.
Why should I go to an accident clinic?
When a person is injured in an accident, they will often be taken to an emergency room. In some cases, they may need immediate treatment. If they have an open wound or a chest injury, they may need surgery immediately.
The emergency care they give you at the hospital is insufficient for you to recover from your injuries completely. You need to receive care from a medical professional specializing in accident injuries. The trauma caused by an accident differs from an injury resulting from a certain job or sporting activity over time.
The type of injury you have depends on the type of accident you were in. People in slip and fall accidents will usually suffer broken wrists, spinal cord injuries, and knee injuries. People who have been in a car accident most often suffer from soft tissue injuries such as whiplash, head trauma, and back injuries.
Understanding the 14-Day Law in Florida
There are two kinds of auto insurance laws in the United States, fault and no-fault. In a fault state, the person who causes the accident is held financially responsible for the associated bills. Their insurance will have to pay the medical bills of anyone they injure. In a no-fault state, a person’s insurance will pay for their accident-related bills no matter who is responsible for the accident.
Florida is a no-fault state. That means your insurance company must pay your medical bills after an accident, but you must seek medical attention within 14 days of your accident. If you do not, the insurance company can deny your claim. We accept all different kinds of insurance, so be sure to contact us soon after your car accident.
The Treatments We Offer
At Icon Medical Centers, we offer several different varieties of treatment for injuries. We do not offer emergency services or surgery. Rather, we provide the kind of long-term care that will help to alleviate pain and regain your full range of motion.
A chiropractor is a physician who treats neuromuscular disorders by manipulating the spine. In some cases, the spinal adjustment may involve manual manipulation. The doctor may also use a table or special tools to treat you.
Chiropractors must undergo a four-year training program that is approved by the Council on Chiropractic Education. Most chiropractic programs require 90 hours of undergraduate work, but they do not require an undergraduate degree. However, an undergraduate degree helps because it gives students a fundamental understanding of biology and physiology.
Our chiropractor has a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training in addition to his chiropractic degree. He has worked with professional athletes and has years of experience caring for accident victims.
Chiropractic care can improve your flexibility after an accident. If you have been told you need surgery, you may want to try chiropractic treatment first because, in some cases, it can eliminate the need for surgery.
We offer several different kinds of chiropractic treatment at our clinic. Our doctor will recommend the one that is perfect for you. Spinal manipulation therapy is considered one of the most trusted and reliable types of alternative treatments for injuries.
When you injure one of your limbs, neck, or appendage, a doctor may recommend physical therapy. A physical therapy session will involve doing several exercises to help regain the use of the injured area of your body, and you will be expected to do your exercises at home.
Physical therapists will also use hot and cold therapy to treat your injuries. You will be amazed at how much better an injured limb will feel when it has been wrapped in a hot or cold compress for 20 minutes or so.
Our physical therapists will often recommend a Paraffin wax bath for pain. Paraffin wax has been used to treat arthritis and surrounds the injured area with soothing heat. It is the most pain-free form of physical therapy.
Some of the exercises may be rather painful, but in the long run, they will help you regain the use of your injured limbs by improving your range of motion. They can also help your injuries to heal.
Icon Medical Centers employs trained massage therapists to treat our patients. Massages not only feel good, but they can also improve your circulation and help your injuries heal. We offer three different types of massage.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage involves the use of percussion, kneading, and vibration. The masseuse will often use oil to protect your skin from damage.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on the deep layers of connective and muscle tissue in the body. Its primary goal is to realign those tissues. DT massage employs the use of deep finger pressure on the areas being treated. It is often used to treat stiff necks and shoulder pain that can result from an accident.
Neuromuscular Massage
Neuromuscular massage is a manual massage technique. Friction and digital pressure are used to treat muscle strain. It focuses on treating certain trigger points of pain.
Our massage therapist will recommend a treatment program for you when you come in for an initial diagnosis, which may include several different types of massage treatments.
Accidents from injuries can be devastating, but with the right medical care, you can recover from your injuries and move on with your life. Icon Medical Centers are here to help. Give us a call today.
