Winter’s dark days and comfier clothes usually come with long hours, slouching, and straining at the office. You should watch out for these bad habits, as they’ll quickly lead to poor health.

Here are 3 tips to make sure your computer job doesn’t kill you.

1. Adjust your monitor Your monitor should be at eye level with your eyes so that your eyes are only looking down about 10 degrees. Anything higher or lower than that will cause your head to compensate, which may lead to back pain, neck pains or even dry eye syndrome if your display is too high.

2. Take it on the chin Do chin retractions, or make a double chin, to keep the neck and spine aligned.

3. Stand up for yourself Use a standing desk or sit-stand workstation for better posture. According to research conducted by the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic, sit-stand workstations helped workers reduce their sitting time by 25 percent, which can increase a sense of well-being and reduce fatigue and appetite.
